Gunther may not get much respect for being a slug, but he had better be careful or he may actually end up on the someone’s menu. For a slug, the wrong side of any road is flat down the middle. So as you might have figured out by now, the bees are on the hunt for the hive wreckers, the fleas are on the hunt for a scapegoat, and Gunther has decided to go on the hunt for a shell. I love these guys as comic strip characters but I don’t want either of them on my plate :).
The desire to be wanted can often distort a person’s logic. Many people desire fame and celebrity but become blinded to the feeding frenzy that inevitably will destroy their personal privacy. As Marty said, Gunther needs to be careful about wanting culinary celebrity. You wouldn’t mind someone naming a sandwich after you, but you wouldn’t want to actually be part of that sandwich.
Uggh! snails… It’s hilarious to think that’s a delicacy. What else could they come up with as an excuse for fine cuisine, earth worm omelettes?

Leroy, Thanks for the comment and I enjoy reading your ICE CUBES comic as well. Slugs and snails need love too, unfortunately being the center of attention on a dinner menu is the ultimate in tough to swallow love.
