There are two general types of collisions in physics: elastic and inelastic. Elastic collisions are stuff like a tennis ball hitting the ground, it bounces. Inelastic collisions are like an egg hitting the ground. Just ask Humpty Dumpty, those are the ones you don’t walk away from. 🙂
