An interesting note about social satire and political humor is that the passage of time doesn’t seem to change most of the main themes. We are all taught from a young age to learn from our experiences, yet as a society we prefer to repeat the past with only minor variations for the flavor of the month.

It’s a lot like moving dirt from one side of the room to the other and then moving it to a different spot, just pushing the same dirt around doesn’t actually accomplish cleaning the floor.
