Even when you don’t gum up the works it could still turn into a sticky situation. The contest here seems to be who can out dumb the other one.
Part of the fun in doing a parody story like Moo Goo Gum Shoe is to accent the humor of the well known classical characters. Our hero Blomes and his arch rival Snortiarty both think they are the smartest person in the room. So it is very humorous to see that most of the time they are actually clueless and mostly just plain wrong. They both are guilty of giving themselves and their opponents too much credit for knowing what they are doing.
