Marty,
Thank you so much for those great words of encouragement. My sole purpose in doing the comic is to be entertaining and it certainly motivates me to hear that you are enjoying the twice weekly insanity. I’ll keep doing my best to improve the comic even more as I still feel I haven’t come close to hitting my stride yet. I hope the first year was just a warm up.

The first rule for surviving a fall is to avoid sudden abrupt stops. Rule number two is to flap your arms as fast as you can and try to achieve flight. Rule number three is in case rule number two doesn’t work, hope that rule number one does.

I use to really like chocolate covered turtles when I was younger and could eat that sort of candy. But one of the problems of getting older is that watching your weight and trying to eat a healthy diet causes you to have to avoid eating all the great stuff. As this is a flash back we already know that Fatz didn’t actually eat Monroe, but Rockford is absolutely sure that he did. Eat a turtle, eat a bug, who knows which is worse.

Hey Marty,
I love Rockford too. In fact one of the main reasons I added this transitional flash back sequence into the Pedalling Down Hill chapter of the story is to explain what happened to Rockford as well as Agile and Fatz after the escape from the squirrels rather than just having them just pop up out of the blue. So you can bet you will be seeing more of him, or at least his back pack.

Talking critters isn’t all that unusual, at least in the comics, but a fish that can write is newsworthy. Rockford, the rock in the backpack, is a different story. The fact that a rock can talk is serious news because where’s his mouth or his eyes for that matter.
